In 1945, he was founded in the Department of History and Geography of Tianjin Institute of Business and Technology, and was appointed as the head of the department by Academician Hou Renzhi.

In 1953, the Department of History and Geography was divided into the Department of History and the Department of Geography. The history department has emerged famous historical experts such as Qi Sihe, Fang Hao, Wang Hualong, Qian Junyi, Wang Renqi, Qia Xia, Li Guangbi, Fu Shangwen, Zhou Qingji, Qiao Mingshun and Ge Dinghua.

In 1984, the first doctoral program in Hebei Province was established.

In 1993, the key discipline of ancient Chinese history in Hebei Province was established.

In 1996, the base of training and scientific research for history talents in Hebei Province was established.

In 2005, a strong discipline of history in Hebei Province was established.

In 2006, a doctoral degree in modern Chinese history and a master's degree in history were established.

In 2007, a post-doctoral mobile station for the first-level discipline of history was established.

In 2008, the Department of History was separated from the College of Humanities and formed a history school.

In 2010, he applied for a doctoral degree in the first-level discipline of history.

In 2011, a master's degree in first-level disciplines in Chinese history, world history and archaeology was established.

In 2012, he officially signed an appointment agreement with Mr. Wang Xi, a tenured professor of history at Indiana University in Pennsylvania and a professor of the Yangtze River Scholars of the Ministry of Education.

In 2013, the Hebei Provincial Cultural Industry Research Base was established jointly with the Graduate School, and the Research Center for History and Social Development of North China was established jointly with the Social History Research Center of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.

In 2013, the National Midwestern University Comprehensive Strength Enhancement Program established two research platforms: the North China Studies Series and the Chinese and Foreign Civilization Series.

In 2014, he was approved as a Bachelor of World History.

In 2016, the Chinese history discipline was established by the Hebei Provincial Government as a national first-class discipline construction sequence.
